Sutherland played New Zealand in a 40 over match at Caringbah Oval, a practice match for NZ as they travelled to Brisbane to resume the ODI series. It was the first time an Australian club team had played a touring international team.

Shortly after, Matthew Hughston finished the innings on 155no – thus setting a new record for the highest score in 1st Grade L/O matches for the club.
