Paul McCann took 7-25 & 8-54 in 2nd Grade vs Central Cumberland at Caringbah Oval – match figures of 15-79 in one day. These were the best match figures in 2nds until Devlin Malone took 16 wickets in 2015-16.

Glenn McGrath took 5-28 in the second innings of the 1st Test vs West Indies at Port-of-Spain, giving him match figures of 10-78. He won the Player of the Match award.

Jasem Rafique took 8-17 in the second innings in 5th Grade vs Balmain at Tonkin Oval. He had taken 3-15 in the first innings the previous week to give him match figures of 11-32. He also scored 121 in Sutherland’s only innings – the only time a Sutherland player has scored a century and taken 10 wickets in a match. It is also the only time a Sutherland player has scored a century and taken 8 wickets in an innings in the same match.

Ben Connell took 5-42 in the first innings on debut in 2nd Grade vs Sydney at Reg Bartley Oval, Rushcutters Bay. He went on to take 5-43 in the second innings the following week to give him match figures of 10-85.

David Givney played his 527th and last match for the club in 5th Grade vs North Sydney at Tonkin Oval. In those 527 matches, he scored 12,559 runs (11 x 100 & 52 x 50) and captained 275 times, winning premierships in 5ths in 1999-00 & 2000-01. It was the end of a career that spanned 14,699 days since his debut in AWG vs Nepean at Howell Oval on Mon 16 December 1974.
