Phil Jaques appointed Head Coach for 2025-26 - Fri 28 Feb

The Club is pleased to announce that Life Member & former Australian Test player Phil Jaques this week signed a three-year contract to take over as Head Coach of SDCC, starting from the 2025-26 pre-season. Phil will have full responsibility for all aspects of the grade & Metro Cup program, as well as the transition of players from the Junior Winter Academy programs through to Grade cricket and underage competitions. Details of his support coaching staff will be announced in due course.

We are looking forward to Phil returning as Head Coach, a role he previously filled in the 2012-13 & 2013-14 seasons. Since then, he was Head Coach of Queensland in 2015-16 & 2016-17, before returning to NSW as Batting Coach in 2017-18. He took over as Head Coach of NSW in 2018-19 and served until he stood down during the 2022-23 season. In that time, NSW won the Sheffield Shield in 2019-20 and the One Day Cup in 2020-21.
