It is with regret that we advise of the sad passing on Martin Wood, 1st Grade player #143, aged 58 on 12 December. Martin played 16 matches in 1st Grade between 1986-87 and 1988-89. In all grades, he played 30 matches, taking 44 wickets at 30.2 and scoring 518 runs at 23.5. Prior to joining SDCC, Martin was a member of the NSW Under 19 team in 1984-85, which team included Justin Kenny (1st Grade #114), Kevin Tuite (#121), David Niu (#125), Steve Funnell (#126) and Andrew Millican (current batting coach) and was managed by Life Member Ted Cotton.
We extend our sincere condolences to Martin’s family. Martin’s funeral will be held at Macquarie Park, Magnolia Chapel, North Ryde on Wednesday 20 December at 11am.
