Since 1965
Zac Whetters has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to stress fractures. His replacement in 5th Grade tomorrow is Chad Gilmour, who is 1st Grade player #232. He now lives in Ararat in country Victoria and was back in Sydney to visit relatives over the holiday period. He is now waiting for a permit to re-enter the state of Chairman Dan and, due to the slowness of the process, has been at training this week and will still be here on the weekend, so is able to fill in for 5th Grade.
Chad played 142 matches for the club between 2003-04 & 2011-12, taking 237 wickets at 23.1 (including 33 wickets in 27 1st Grade matches). He also scored 280 runs at 6.0, including two remarkable innings during the 2010-11 season. In 2nd Grade in Round 6 vs Bankstown, he scored 33 and put on 71 for the 10th wicket with Grant Davies (83no) – still the 2nd Grade 10th wicket partnership record (equalled in 2016-17 by James Arnold & Elijah Bagnall). Then, in 1st Grade in Round 11 vs Sydney University, he scored 16no and put on 81 for the 10th wicket with Daniel Rixon (63) – at the time the 1st Grade 10th wicket partnership record!
