This is the only day before this season that we have played on 29 February. It obviously only falls every four years and last Saturday was the 14th time there has been a 29 February in our 55 seasons. It has now fallen on each day of the week twice. On Sunday 29 February 1976 and Sunday 29 February 2004, we didn’t play any matches.
In 1992, we had two wins. 1sts played a one-day match after day one was washed out – Sutherland 9/173 dec (John Dyson 37, Darrell Mann 34, Justin Kenny 30) d. Mosman 129 (Phil Weatherall 4-47, Glenn McGrath 3-49, Darrell Mann 2-9) at Rawson Park.
5ths completed a convincing outright win after starting their match the previous week – Sutherland 1/49 dec (Mathew Duff 32no) & 1/79 (Mathew Duff 36no, Trent Harvey 29no) d. Mosman 47 (Matthew Brennan 3-10, Col Christie 2-2, Alex Mann 2-6, Stuart Clark 2-15) & 77 (Jason Holley 4-26, Matthew Brennan 3-23, Stuart Clark 2-18) at Tonkin Oval.

Des Lawrence took 5-58 in the second innings in 4th Grade vs Waverley at Tonkin Oval. He took 7-39 in the first innings the previous week to give him match figures of 12-97.

Scott Pickering made his 1st Grade debut vs Fairfield-Liverpool at Glenn McGrath Oval.
3 March 2001
Tony Clark took 4-23 in the first innings vs Bankstown at Bankstown Oval. He went on to take 7-44 in the second innings the following week to give him match figures of 11-67.

Stan Gilchrist took 7-33 in the second innings in 4th Grade vs Western Suburbs at Sutherland Oval. He had taken 4-21 in the first innings the previous week to give him match figures of 11-54.
6 March 1971
Paul Venn scored 117 in 5th Grade vs Manly-Warringah A at Tonkin Oval – the first century for the club in 5ths.
